FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is a condensate pump typically required?
A condensate pump is needed for any high-efficiency furnace, Oil and Gas Condensing Boiler,Ice Machine, central air conditioner, or dehumidifier located in an area without a floor drain, such as a basement or attic.
It’s a critical safety feature. If the pump fails or the line clogs, the water level will rise and trip the high-level switch, which is wired to shut down the HVAC unit, preventing it from producing more condensate and causing an overflow.
We recommend checking and cleaning the pump tank and float switch at least once a year, typically during routine HVAC system maintenance, to remove any sludge or algae buildup and ensure free movement.
