Pumps in Service at Terminals & Refineries Worldwide

Oil Transfer Pump Advantages

We build our pumps to a higher standard, with features specifically designed to handle the punishing nature of hydrocarbon transfer.

Main Technical Specifications

Pump Types:Internal/External Gear, Screw, Lobe Pumps
Viscosity Range: 1 cSt to 2,000,000 cSt+
Materials: Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, Carbon Steel, etc
Max. Flow Rate: Up to 2,200 GPM (500 m³/h)

Master Temperature

Our pumps maintain consistent flow and performance, whether you're pumping thick, cold crude at start-up or hot, low-viscosity fuels.

Max Asset Throughput

Enable faster vessel, railcar, and truck turnaround by maintaining high flow rates, eliminating transfer bottlenecks and avoiding costly demurrage fees.

Cut Energy Costs

Positive displacement technology is significantly more efficient when pumping viscous oils, drastically reducing your energy consumption (kWh) per barrel transferred.

Guarantee Transfer Accuracy

The smooth, non-pulsating flow from our pumps is ideal for use with flow meters, ensuring precise measurement for custody transfer and blending operations.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a positive displacement (PD) pump better for oil than a centrifugal pump?
PD pumps (like gear or screw pumps) excel at handling viscous fluids. They move oil at a constant rate regardless of pressure, are more energy-efficient with thick liquids, and can handle entrained air. Centrifugal pumps lose efficiency dramatically as viscosity increases.
Temperature is critical because it drastically changes oil’s viscosity. A pump must be sized for the lowest temperature (highest viscosity) to ensure the motor has enough power to start.

API 676 is a stringent standard from the American Petroleum Institute for positive displacement pumps used in the petroleum, chemical, and gas industries. It dictates robust design criteria for casings, seals, bearings, and materials to ensure maximum safety and reliability.
