What is a Self-priming Jet Water Pump?
A jet pump is a mechanical machine that flows fluid by driving a nozzle that converts the pressure of the fluid into a high-speed jet. The jet from the nozzle continuously draws the fluid from the inlet side of the jet pump. In a mixing tube, the trapped fluid absorbs some of the energy of the moving fluid. The pump’s diffuser converts fluid velocity back into pressure.
Jet pumps work by pulling water toward the surface, rather than pulling it as a submersible pump would. It is a self-priming pump with no moving parts. The pump produces a rapid jet of almost any liquid and drives another liquid by driving pressure recovery in the diffuser.
In a jet pump, two or more inlets are used to extract a constant flow of liquid and use pressure to produce suction. The mixture of gas or fluid velocity and inlet pressure causes the medium to flow out of the pit, tank, or well through the pump to the outlet point.
Due to friction loss, the efficiency of a jet pump is lower than that of an ordinary centrifugal pump. However, jet pumps are highly efficient when dealing with gaseous mixtures or under a variety of downhole conditions where surface characteristics include turbulence. This type of pump has one or more impellers and diffusers with ejectors. It is mounted on the ground and draws water out of the ground through a water inlet pipe.

These types of pumps are well known in areas with high water tables. These are therefore suitable for a variety of residential uses, such as farms, bungalows, oil RIGS and small single-family homes.
